Have you seen this crap?

I have a pretty standard set of channels I watch on televison (besides the standard NBC, FOX, ABC, CBS in a pinch) Style Network, Food Network (I can’t resist that Rachel Ray), E!, VH1, and MTV. If its not there I don’t watch- however I friend of mine asked me to turn to TLC to watch “What Not to Wear” it was a makeover marathon.

This show is bad, the people end up leaving look more horrible than when they came in. Whats up with that? I have to admit I laughed my ass off and watched about 4 episodes. Has anyone seen this crap? If so, please tell me what you think.

Stress

I am under a lot of stress lately, between having a new job and planning a move across the country, my body is feeling the stress. There are pluses and minuses to stress. The plus is I am a few pounds away from my goal weight. LOL… I know it will come right back but its fun to feel extra small for a while.

Minus…my skin. OMG- I haven’t bad a blemish since I was like 16 years old. Last week when I got back from my business trip I had a hideous red bump on my face. I did what any girl would do, used my hair to cover my face and walked with my head down. It finally went away, until yesterday when I woke up with another on near my nose (in a spot that sunglasses can easily cover- which I wore all day). I felt the need to take action (besides just hiding). So I dashed off to Target and got this…

Let me tell you…this stuff works. The bottle doesn’t lie it does significantly reduce your pimple. I am looking back to normal today. Thank goodness.

Vintage Store Finds

I finally have my camera back up and running. Hooray!!!! Yesterday I stuck my away message up and ran to the vintage store, it was a quick in and out (had to get back to the computer to work) but I managed to buy this little jumper I have been eyeing for weeks. The only reason I never bought it before is because, well…its pretty silly. But for $10, pair it with some white stilleto pumps and be on my way.

Oh and here is a picture of the wonderful $12 snakeskin bracelet I got at the same vintage store….

Dear Fashion Kitty

Hi. I have this horizontally striped shirt that is white and grey. It is cut really low so I wear a white tank top underneath. I wanted to know what types and/or colors of necklaces would look good would this outfit? What color jewelry looks good with white AND grey?

White and grey huh? It’s funny how the slighest variation can throw a girl off. I mean black and white is easy, but white and grey can make for a slight challenge. Here is what I think you should try( I think you may be surprised how many combos you can come up with)

Simple Look- First is first, ditch the white tank underneath. It will make the top look like its supposed to be that way- make the shirt stand out. I would try black as a basic then add a cute necklace.

Pastel Look– for the end of summer. C&C California has layering tops on sale for $19, I think any of these colors would great, especially the blue or pink… Paired up with a funky necklace.

Muted for Fall- For fall, I would layer burnt orange, moss green, or navy blue. Accessories- go minimal with something that sits higher on the neck in gold.

What a Day!

Ever have days that are so damn crappy you can’t even believe it? Well I had one of those today…man it was extreme. To make myself feel better I went to Nordstrom to buy myself this Ed Hardy hat I have been wanting- well guess what bad day extends there too. No damn hat! Here is a picture of it, guess I will have to order it online.
Then I was off to Victoria Secret to get my free undies (got the coupon in Lucky Mag) Well fine print and sucks and not stocking what your are giving away sucks too. The only underwear that were Free were the Pink Brand (which I knew) but they had to be pink, black, or white. Fine. Have to dig like a wild animal to find a pair in that color story… Cha Ching. Ummm NO! They are extra low rise which arent on the coupon. So I left the mall empty handed 🙁

Style Central

Shopbop has always been a top site for me, they always impress me with the Look Book and the bad ass outfits they put together, the selection- fabulous, the new arrivals- all time and now yet another to get excited . A Guide to Fall Trends for 2006.

The summer is flying by for me, so its shocked me to think of Fall (it happens every year I should get used to it)

Here is what www.shopbop.com thinks will be cool this Fall (with Kitty commentary of course)

  • Punk Rocker Edge * Think we can handle that- how long has skulls and skinny jeans been in? Yep we can handle that.

  • Mod- All about A-line, retro chic and fun make-up. Its hard for everyone to pull of, but to those that can- go for it. Personally I would hit the vintage shops to achieve this look.
  • Classic Grunge- Remember the 90’s (how could you not, they just happened) Well channel Kurt Cobain and go to town with this look. If you need runway inspiration check out the latest from Marc Jacobs and Anna Sui always has a touch of grunge in her looks.

  • Boy Meets Girl- Kitty snooze… I feel like menswear inspired pieces are always “in” somehow.

  • Volume– Its fun to play with big balloon-y clothing if you are skinny, and I am not talking skinny like everyday girls… I am talking you need to be one of the models to pull this off. Be careful with this look.

  • Inky Darks- I swear they are running out of styles on this one. LOL. Yes dark clothes are always in for fall (pretty sure you have a f ew of these things in your closet already)

  • Bold Graphics- Quit playing it safe with solid and get bold this fall. Diane von Furstenberg is always good for a nice print- try her.

  • Sweater Dresses- Summer is wonderful because you have what I call a “throw and go” type dress (through it on and walk out the door- if you needed an explanation) Well, same goes for this fall and the sweater dress. Hooray to simplicity (sometimes)

Thank You

Thank you Closet Therapy! If you all recall Closet Therapy blog held a Denim Art contest (mine is the one with the jeans in the refrigerator!) Well I won, and its thanks to you readers who voted for me:) My jeans came today and I love them. Once I get my camera back in order I will try to snap a picture of them and get my “Clothes off my Back” section going again.

The point of all of this is to thank Closet Therapy for her generosity and for her wonderful blog!

I Have to Have This

Closet Therapy got me hooked on Mike & Chris…I must have this. It is the like the coolest thing I have ever seen. I think it will be worth the $173 (heck I spend way more on shoes, jeans, and bags). Only thing is, will I be able to wear it in the LA heat?

That’s right- Cats out of the bag. Fashion Kitty is moving to Los Angeles at the end of August. So LA readers should I shell out the cash to buy this? I hear it gets pretty chilly in LA at night. Also if anyone has suggestions of where I should shop. Lay it on me….
