Non-LA people probably aren’t aware but this is like the biggest shopping event of the year. Seriously, the best deals like EVER!!! Even though my shopping ban will probably prevent me from taking full advantage of the sale … I am going anyways. See you there!!
Dear Fashion Kitty, Dream Bag
I was wondering if you knew where to get a hobo bag (fabric, maybe with crazy prints) that I could wrap around my body (like diagonally over the shoulder and body and the bag part would be on my back.) I bike to college and I need a bag that is stylish and won’t swing around.
I was on the hunt for one of these bags too. I found a while back but it’s way too long to bike around with so I won’t even bother talking about it. There was a great one by Marc Jacobs like four years ago but that won’t do you any good either. Here are a couple of cute ones that might end up being your dream bag:
This one isn’t made of a funky fabric but be damned if it isn’t amazing looking! It’s by Mat and Nat. You can purchase it at Tobi for $225. It’s great because it’s roomy, stylish, and the material will hold up better than fabric.

This ‘Flower Power’ messenger bag by Betsey Johnson answers your fabric/ funky pattern request and is $118.
I even found two inexpensive ones; one from Old Navy for $8.99 and one from Target for $9.99. For the price, I definitely like the Target one the best.
Kittyville: Paint Job … First Look
The painting process is like 90% complete, the only thing left is a few more roses in the bathroom (although I was thinking about painting the kitchen too.) Here are some pictures to show the color in the rooms. Mind you these rooms are not decorated, yet! I haven’t even finished moving/ unpacking so don’t think that this is it because there is so much more to come. Just you wait little kitten, just you wait…

New Stuff from Mod Skin Labs
You all know how much I love Mod Skin Labs. I wrote about their Face Sculpt Serum back in January and have been using it religiously ever since. They just came out with a brand new candle to add to their line and it’s pretty darn amazing. Since I have been traveling more I have realized the importance of a good candle. When you are in a room that stinks like hell (hello my Vegas hotel room that reeked of smoke) you start craving candles.
Anyways I tested out their new candle and I love it!
Not only does the candle smells amazing but it looks amazing too. I always find that candles that smell great come in some hokey glass jar that is embarrassing to set out. This candle isn’t going to embarrass me one bit — it’s gorgeous.
I am no whiz at describing scents so I will leave it up Mod Skin Labs for that one …
” soothing lavender meddles with delicate green notes of cedarwood, topped with a brilliant punch of blood orange”
Again, I am no scent wizard but I love the smell of blood orange and I think that is what really makes this candle perfect for me. This candle is also perfect for gifting so make sure you keep it in mind for holiday shopping. Also, 10% of profits will be generously donated to ACRIA, a leading non-profit organization for research and development of AIDS related causes.
You can’t beat a great smelling candle for a good cause now can you?
Kittyville: Painting Like a Pro
I will never take on a painting project without my Betsey Johnson “Betseyville” overalls and my Zibra paint products…
This weekend was a big one for Kittyville. I moved over all of my furniture from my Hollywood apartment (except for one giant shelf that I couldn’t life on my own), I bought a brand new couch and I continued painting my new place. The bathroom flowers are almost complete, the bedroom is finished, the living room was painted a sunny shade of yellow, and I started painting the black and white stripes in my dressing room. It’s looking amazing. I will take some pictures tonight and post them tomorrow.
Right now painting is my main focus, the decorating will come later. My painting job was made so much easier by Zibra. Zibra painting products were sent over to the ThisNext offices and since I am the only one doing house painting right now I got to take the products home to test them out.
I have one thing to say … Amazing!!
Seriously, I will never paint with any other products again. The company has a pretty neat story too, you should definitely check it out. Basically women around the country were surveyed on their painting frustrations and all of these products answer those frustrations. I usually don’t heavily endorse products that aren’t fashion-related but these products were seriously amazing.

Gossip Girl Fashion Spoiler: Jenny’s Red Necklace
Jenny Humphrey will be wearing this choker in red on tonight’s episode of Gossip Girl.
I love, love, love Tarina Tarantino and I have been wanting this necklace for a while now. I think it’s time to take the plunge, it’s been a while since I haven’t been to the Tarina Tarintino boutique on Melrose anyways. The necklace comes in 20 colors, so the hardest part will be trying to figure out which color to get.
Buy it for $163 at Tarina Tarantino’s boutique or online.
Kittyville: I’m a Painting Machine
My move from Hollywood to Culver City is going slower than a normal move but it’s coming along. Since I have no furniture I decided to start painting the new apartment before everything gets delivered. I went into hell, I mean Home Depot and bought some fun paint for pretty much every room in my place. Oh and by the way, I am calling my new place “Kittyville.”
I was inspired by mwent with Ralph Lauren paint because it’s damn fabulous. The colors were inspired from my trip to the Betsey Johnson showroom and from my bottle of Betsey Johnson perfume (I took the insert into Home Depot with me).
All colors are from the Island Brights collection from Ralph Lauren
Bedroom: “Racer Pink” The website shows this color as a muddy purplish pink but it’s totally not like that at all. The is a pink so hot it’s almost glowing — It’s fierce baby.
Bathroom: “Belmont Pink” Again, the website doesn’t do this color justice. The color is a bright cheerful pink that is almost a coral pink. On top of the pink I am using the Racer Pink, Key West Green, and Black Silk to paint swirly Betsey Johnson style roses all over the walls. It’s freaking adorable!
Dressing room: I have a sweet little area of my apartment that works as a dressing room. I am painting vertical black and white stripes there.
Living Room: “Kayak Yellow” So excited to get this one up on the wall. It’s going to be the happiest living room ever.
Eating area: I am still debating this one but I think I will do more vertical stripes in black and white in the eating area of my kitchen.
Mudroom/ Utility room: I had originally thought about the black and white stripes in there but I might go crazy with some flowers or fashion illustrations on the wall depending on how much extra paint I have.
Kittyville: My Half-done Bathroom
I finished phase 1 (painting the bathroom pink) of “the most awesome bathroom ever” on Tuesday. Phase 2 is taking a bit longer (painting swirly flowers all over the walls) but I figured I would give you all a little preview.
Don’t ask me why I have so many toothbrushes. I just do.
Like I said, the flowers are taking a little longer than I expected but hopefully the entire bathroom will be complete tonight. Once the flowers are completed I will be repainting the frame of an old mirror bright yellow to go on the back wall. Eventually I will add some shelves because I have a lot of products to store and one medicine cabinet ain’t gonna do it.
4000
I just hit 4,000 recommendations on ThisNext!! Sorry, this is huge for me so I must share.
