I read your post about Gossip Girl fashion on thisnext.com and figured that you might be able to help me find a red jacket that the character Chuck Bass wore in the episode “Desperately seeking Serena” (season 1, ep 15).
Since this jacket is so old, I can’t find any info about it. However I did find you a similar option. This red jacket by Maison Martin Margeila is marked down to $410 from $820 and is very Chuck Bass.
I have an upcoming wedding in August and would love to get a similar dress/style to Penelope Cruz at Cannes this year. I’m not sure who her bandeau dress was by, but I need a most “cost-effective” alternative. Have you seen anything similar??

I have a party to attend this Friday and it’s a formal party. This is my first time to attend such a party and I’m having doubts of what I’d wear is appropriate. I’m fat and short and I really had a hard time looking for a dress. I’ve settled on borrowing a brown jersey dress that has sleeves on it. Do you think it’s okay to wear that? I think a brown jersey dress will be just fine. The great thing about jersey is that it can be easily dressed up or down. So basically, its all in the accessories. Wear accessories that are jeweled, sparkly, or shiny. Bling it up!!
I’ve been looking for a purse that I can use for both casual and workplace attire. I currently have a brown bag and I want something more summery in color. I want it to be big enough to fit a large nalgene water bottle and all my junk. [I’m not sure what my style is but I love the casual Drew Barrymore look.] The problem is that all the bags I find that I like are totally out of my price range. So I will need it to be as inexpensive as possible!

Awww, thanks for thinking of the old Kitty while shopping 🙂 That makes me feel good. Anyways, I did a little digging and I found two bags for you.
1.) The Angie & Lola Satchel with Pleats in yellow. This bag is at Target for a cool $45. I love the color, the shape, and of course the price.
2.) While this one isn’t really a color (its gray), I think its really practical and stylish. The Bagnorgegio bag from Aldo, which is $40. It also comes in purple.
Any clues on what I could wear with tailored shorts? Just bought a few pairs and I’m clueless because my usual leather jacket looks wrong!
Um, yes .. a leather jacket was definitely the wrong choice. A little too harsh for tailored shorts. For longer tailored shorts; I like the idea of wearing them with a simple tank and an opened button down top. For shorter tailored shorts; a tee shirt and a nice looking cardigan usually does the trick. And with any pair of shorts, wear them with flats. Shorts and heels can look kinda skanky, which isn’t always a bad thing (haha) but typically that look is frowned upon.
So I have a black tie function this summer, that I MUST look amazing for! My usual style is a bit of grunge mixed with girly, (I know you’ll hate this but its very Kristen Stewart-esque!) So I’m a bit out of my depth with formal wear.
I saw this dress in Karen Millen but I’m not sure if it’s enough? My friends are divided and I really do need to look amazing for this night! Do you have any suggestions on what I could wear with it or maybe another dress that is better suited to black tie or just better in general? I want something elegant and classy but also something stand out and sexy! I’m not sure if that’s even possible! Any ideas? (Keeping in mind that I can really only spend €250 and live in Ireland so it has to be available here or in the UK!)
Something about that floral print says not enough for me. Maybe its the color, I don’t know it just doesn’t scream black tie. I found three dresses in your price range that I think will be more appropriate for the occasion.
With dresses like the ones pictured about, you only need a pair of pointy evening shoes and one flashy piece of jewelry. Make sure your hair and make up is flawless and you will be good to go.
As a product of the 80s who is right now devastated at the loss of Michael Jackson, I am removing myself from my regularly scheduled programming to give some love to MJ. The man not only changed the way we listen to music, he also changed the face of fashion. I mean, hello … have you seen what we are wearing these days?! It’s total MJ/80s!
Anyhow. I grew up in a time where my dad made me watch the Thriller video. Sure the video scared the crap out of me but looking back, I am glad that such a musical masterpiece was forced upon me. Also, looking back … it was more awesome than it was scary.
I also clearly remember trying to master the moonwalk with my little brother, we never got it but dammit if we didn’t try.
And how could we forget the fact that Michael Jackson brought music videos to regular TV. I clearly remember the Black and White video being on 8pm EST on some regular old channel like ABC or something. I sat down with my family to watch it and it was amazing. These days you can’t even watch a music video on freakin’ MTV.
We lost someone great today. No matter what tabloid bullshit was floating around, I am glad we can all remember the good things. The music and the memories that it brings out of all of us.
With that being said, I have been racking my brain trying to come up with my favorite Michael Jackson song of all time. I have come to realize that coming up with one is impossible. So I tried to drill it down to 5 (in no particular order.)

Um … $2195, really?! In my opinion, that shoe is a little too basic for that kind of price tag. But yes, I can find you something similar for less. Hope one of these works for you …
