Noose! What the heck… I don’t really understand why Pirates of the Caribbean 2 is coming out (what’s the point- besides looking at Orlando and Johnny) and what I really don’t understand why this movie has caused some small fashion movement. I mean I know we are hip on the skull and cross bones thing right now- but a frickin’ noose. Disney Couture has come up with a $75 Golden Noose to celebrate the sequel to Pirates. Gee a noose, sounds like a great celebration.


Don’t get wrong, I do find a bit of humor in wearing a golden noose around your neck at the office and having corporate drones look at your like your crazy. BUT- I am pretty sure I can find a more productive way to spend $75.

…Well it can be if you have the right supplies! Since hitting that true adult age- ya know summers aren’t as fun because you spend all day in the office. The joy of buying new school supplies has vanished (sometimes being a student kicks ass). Getting old sucks!

May as well attempt to make the most of it and get yourself some hot new “work supplies”. After careful debate, I finally purchased my first pair of skinny jeans. I went with a reader (and friend) recommendation, the J Brand Jeans. Headed to Barneys, and started trying on… I fell in love with the color ink, which was sold out in my size- so I left. The pain of how good my legs looked in those jeans drew me back and I bought the dark blue pair. I definitely have some sort of shopping disorder that needs to be remedied with medication. Any who…I love them and highly recommend J Brand- because guess what? Skinny Jeans are here to stay.

Saw them at Intermix today. Get this- they are on sale 🙂 The puppies have a 1/2 stacked heel, sure its no sexy 4″ heel (sometimes even Fashion Kitties need a break). Jeweled sandals alternative to an average flip flop, a good way to avoid looking sloppy. Just make sure you keep your toenails manicured- nothing worse than crusty toes.

For a girl who has a LOT, I mean a LOT of clothes- I always find myself in a pile of tears when getting dressed to go out on a date (yes, Kitty has her moments- zip it). I have dresses, don’t get me wrong. However, they are all wrong for dates. They are too funky, too sexy, too day. It is time that I go and get some date dresses. Dresses that are a sprinkle of sexy, a sprinkle of sophisticated, and a whole lot of cute. Went surfing through Neimans summer sale selection and I found 2 dresses; it’s not a wardrobe but it’s a start.

Well it all depends on the dress… Is it long, or is it short? Any key details on the dress? Beading, embroidery? What kind of accessories did you have in mind?

Here are some options of what I might do.

• Evening shoes are tricky and often ugly. So to play it safe you can always go with something in a not so obvious color and make it strappy. Like a (gulp) silver stappy sandal. Make sure your toes are all polished and pretty.

• Go black. Also tricky… Black shoes can stick out like a hideous sore thumb. BUT, they can be cute if you add some vintage black jewelry or a black shawl to cover up (since it is an evening wedding)

And of course you do not need to spend a fortune like the shoes I pictured- but you can always find a cheaper alternative at DSW or Nordstrom. Try to get a shoe you would like to wear again.
