As an entrepreneur, influencer, or business owner, you’ll likely need professional photos of yourself representing your brand. These photos can be used on your website, Instagram, or for headshots when you speak or attend an event. In this blog, I will share some secrets to help you look incredible in your brand photoshoot.
A wardrobe can be a stressful part of the process, even if you are a professional stylist. You must be strategic when choosing what to wear for your brand photos. It’s not just going into your closet and pulling out some outfits.
Consider the clothes you’re wearing wear the image you’re trying to portray. Do they represent your brand? Think about the qualities of your brand, and if your brand was a human, what do you think they would want to wear? For instance, during my last brand photo shoot, I wanted to ensure my clothes aligned with my brand colors. So, I wore a lot of pinks because my brand has a lot of pink in it. I wanted to ensure that the clothes showed a certain level of edge but still were approachable. Pick out clothes that are in alignment with that.
You want to consider whether the clothes you wear are flattering to your figure. You don’t always have to dress to flatter your figure, but it’s essential to consider flattering your figure when taking brand photos. You want to show yourself in the most accurate light and the vibe to make you feel comfortable. Wearing baggy or unflattering clothes might be comfortable, but it doesn’t look great in photos. Pick out clothes that accentuate your best features and make you feel confident.
Spend money to get the right clothes. Think about spending money, but in a different way. Some people tend to cheap out when it comes to their brand photos because it can be a more expensive endeavor. But you will use these photos for a long time, at least a year or more. If you need to, hire a stylist. Even if you’re a professional stylist, it’s worth investing in a stylist who can get you the clothes you require during the photo shoot to ensure everything looks perfect.
If you’re buying clothes specifically for the photo shoot, you can write those off on your taxes. So, it’s a worthwhile investment to spend on clothes, especially if you’ll use them for a long time.
The three tips to remember for a successful brand photoshoot are brand alignment, figure flattery, and investment in the right clothes. Use these tips to create a memorable and stunning brand photoshoot that represents your brand accurately.
