Have you ever made a sacrifice that made you uncomfortable but knew it was worth it? Gifts are often essential to our success, and in today’s video, I’ll be discussing the sacrifices I made in my 20s that helped me achieve my goals.
I was almost shocked when I compiled this list of sacrifices because it reminded me of the lengths I went to achieve my goals. They weren’t necessarily dramatic but significant because they challenged me to move out of my comfort zone.
My first sacrifice was moving out of my apartment and into a new one with a roommate. As an introvert, living with someone was my worst nightmare. However, I needed to live closer to Hollywood, where I worked as a stylist, and I couldn’t afford to live alone. I barely knew the girl I moved in with, but it was something I needed to do to achieve my goals.
The second sacrifice was cleaning out my closet and removing anything that didn’t support the person I was becoming. When you love fashion and clothes, getting rid of things you’ve accumulated over time isn’t easy. However, when building a business, you must be intentional about what you wear. My friend came over to help me clean out my closet, and we got rid of so much stuff. I was worried I wouldn’t have anything to wear, but my friend reminded me that I was making room for what I was supposed to have.
My third sacrifice was quitting drinking, smoking, and doing drugs. I decided to become Stone Cold Sober, which was a huge sacrifice but allowed me to focus on my goals. I could wake up without a hangover and be productive throughout the day.
The fourth sacrifice was phasing out unsupportive and unaligned friends. My old friends didn’t mesh with my new lifestyle, and it was distracting to have them around. It was tough to let them go, but it was the right decision. I was leaving the partying lifestyle behind and working on building my business.
If you’re looking to achieve your goals, consider making some sacrifices. These sacrifices weren’t easy, but they helped me succeed in my career. They allowed me to live a different life in my 30s, 40s, and beyond. It might be uncomfortable initially, but it will be worth it.
I hope this post inspired you to make sacrifices and work towards your goals.
