Why Being a Label Whore is Bad for Your Style

Pride is a feeling or deep pleasure derived from one’s own achievements or possessions.

Pride is one of those deadly sins that doesn’t sound so bad, but like the rest of them … it’s freaking terrible!

In regards to style, I correlate Pride with being a “label whore.”

Now I appreciate a well-made, nicely designed garment (or shoe, or bag, or accessories) and often that comes with a label, but label whore I am not.

High-low is the name of the game, and I proudly wear my Target jeans.

I’ve met many a label whore, and that look is not cute.

Label whores have gone beyond appreciating good design and instead will wear ANYTHING with a label on it. Not only that, they will quickly turn their nose up at anything less.

If that definition didn’t gross you out, and you still don’t get it let me break it down.

That attitude is stank, cold, and uninviting.

I am all about buying the best quality you can afford, but great finds don’t have to come from Rodeo Drive every single time.

Opening your eyes and mind to new fashion and smaller labels is not only good for your style, but it’s also good for your soul.

This shift in mindset will translate over to other areas of your life: people, restaurants, experiences.

Give it a shot. I’ve had small bouts with label whore-ness and trust me, leaving that trollop at the door is better for everyone.
