Woodbury Common = Bargain Shopping Mecca

Woodbury Common – I’d heard about it for years and years but was never afforded the opportunity to visit the holy grail of bargain shopping. However yesterday was my day. So I trekked out to Central Valley, New York to get my shop on.

I don’t think you all understand just how much I love shopping for designer deals. I seriously LOVE it. The feelings I had in the days leading up to my epic shopping trip was equivalent to a child counting the days down til Christmas. It was that serious. I studied the store directory and had a good hard look at the map to get my game plan in order.

Of course nothing went as planned. I needed to have started shopping way earlier in the day than I did because the stores closed before I was finished shopping. But the shopping experience was so magnificent I will be back, in October to be exact.

Here are some of the stand out stores that I visited and a few that I plan on visiting next time I go:

  • Saks OFF 5th
  • Neiman Marcus Last Call
  • Barney’s New York Outlet
  • Valentino
  • Tom Ford
  • Chloe
  • Marni
  • Balenciaga (they closed 15 minutes early so I didn’t get to go in)
  • Dior
  • Dolce & Gabbana
  • J. Crew
  • Missoni
  • Oscar de la Renta
  • Wolford
  • Jimmy Choo

Oh and here are a couple of tips for shopping at this magical outlet center:

  1. Wear flats: Sounds like a duh but some people try to be cute while their shopping.
  2. Know the hours and watch the clock: The stores close at 9pm. So plan your shopping accordingly.
  3. Bring a map: This is like a shopping village so definitely carry your map with you, you’ll need it
  4. Check the info center: They have coupons so hit up the information center that is located in the food court
  5. Put things on hold: You might find a better deal elsewhere and who wants to carry all those bags around?

Ugh, so amazing!! Have you all been to Woodbury Common? What did you think of the shopping experience?

  1. I had a great time there, but it definitely required patience and perseverance. My best purchases were a Chloe Heloise tote for $800 and a pair of Yves St. Laurent booties for $250. I did end up buying some things just for the deal, and I regretted it afterwards. Lessons learned :). I actually spent the night at the Hampton Inn and spent two days at Woodbury which was awesome.

  2. If you want a truly amazing designer outlet experience, head over to Tuscany in Italy :). I was there last week and went to the world-famous Prada outlet and a designer outlet called “The Mall” (Gucci, Ferragamo, McQueen, Stella McCartney…). The prices were unbelievable. Even better – unlike US outlets where the merchandise can be in questionable condition, everything was pristine. I was in heaven! Honestly, that day was one of my highlights of my trip to Italy :).
