3 Phrases to Eliminate From Your Vocabulary If You’re a Stylist

As a stylist, we must be mindful of our language when describing our services. In this blog, I will share three phrases that should be eliminated from our vocabulary. These phrases may have been trendy initially, but now they’re overused and played out. So, let’s dive in.

Phrase number one: “I’ll help you look like the best version of you.” This phrase has been used so much that it’s lost its meaning. It’s time to find a new way to say this. Instead of using this overused phrase, try to find a unique way to convey this message. As a stylist, it’s our job to help clients feel confident and comfortable in their skin.

Phrase number two: “Your outsides will finally match your insides.” This phrase is so corny and outdated. People don’t talk like this in real life, so why should we, as stylists? It’s time to find a new way to say this. Instead, try to communicate that we can help our clients feel confident and assertive through their appearance.

Phrase number three: “I help women feel confident.” While it’s true that dressing someone in flattering clothes can boost their confidence, this phrase is too generic and doesn’t set you apart from other stylists. It’s essential to consider what sets you apart from others in your industry. Instead of relying on this tired phrase, try to convey your value more compellingly. What is your unique selling proposition?

So, there you have it. I believe these three phrases should be eliminated from our vocabulary as stylists. Remember, it’s essential to be mindful of the language we use when describing our services. If you have suggestions for new ways to say these phrases, please leave them in the comments below. Let’s help each other elevate our language and stand out in the industry.
