I wouldn’t exactly classify myself as a girly-girl but I do indulge in a few feminine details every now and again – even at the gym. Floral prints, pastels, polka dots, pinks, and purples all have room in my workout wardrobe.
The big question, for me at least, is how do I incorporate feminine elements into my workout gear while keeping my look strong. Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t want to look like the Paris Hilton of Pilates. So here is how I bring a little girly-girl into my look without going all soft.
Oversized workout wear is a surefire way to NOT look feminine. Go with something fitted instead and show off those womanly curves. Don’t think you have to go skintight either; the boyfriend collection from adidas marries girly and tough beautifully.
Pinks and purples are the go-to girly colors but not all colors are created equal. Find the shade of pink or purple that makes you feel comfortable and one that flatters your skin tone. I choose this heather purple Baby Bro tank with neon yellow trim. The color is giving me girly but the cut and trim helps me feel like me. Oh and if pink and purple aren’t your bag, a pastel blue or green looks amazing too.
Floral prints are the standard in feminine prints but floral isn’t the only game in town. I am hooked on these polka dot leggings because you won’t find a dude anytime soon (this pair is just for the girls) and I can wear them outside of the gym as well.
That’s how I keep things girly in the gym- how do you keep your feminine edge while keeping fit?
