Client Makeover: The Office Stylist

It’s time for another client makeover! This time I am working with longtime client and friend, Sayeh aka The Office Stylist. Sayeh actually has amazing style all on her own but sometimes she needs me to push her out of her comfort zone. I also like to take credit for coordinating her personal style with the super-chic brand she has created for herself. Basically it’s just a big old love-fest every time I work with her.

We started the process with a quick consultation. Even though I’ve worked with Sayeh before, I wanted to know what her goals were for this particular fitting. Sayeh recently moved to a new neighborhood and now does a lot of walking (a rarity here in LA). She needed a more practical wardrobe that struck a balance between being chic and being comfortable.

Because Sayeh is the Office Stylist, my goal was to keep the “work” element in her new wardrobe by incorporating fashion-forward jackets with sleek polished pieces.

Sayeh loves heels, gold, statement necklaces, and tailored pieces. So all of that was definitely on the list for this 2014 style upgrade. One element that I really wanted to work in was Sayeh’s signature color – purple. During our last fitting we worked a lot with the color red but this time it’s all about purple.

Since this was going to be a mini-fitting I limited my shopping to two stores instead of my usual ten. I pulled some fabulous pieces from one of my favorite luxury resale boutiques, Luxury Garage Sale. Luxury Garage Sale is based in Chicago but recently opened an online boutique, which is beyond fantastic. I also pulled from Nordstrom Rack because who doesn’t love some killer deals from the Rack?

Side note: The tough part about shopping for clients (especially ones that have similar taste) is that I end up buying stuff for myself. So this ended up coming home with me. As did this this fabulous …

To kick things off, I put Sayeh in this killer vintage . I love it because it can be worn both during her client meetings and for a night out on the town. And can we talk about those gold buttons? So good.

Next it was purple time! This is EVERYTHING. Comfortable, chic, and in her signature color. Once I added the gold statement necklace it was game over. Add some Louboutins and you’re freaking done.

We, of course, tried on a few more options including this but once you go Lanvin there is no going back. That jumpsuit was the hero look.

In the end it was all about Lanvin. Chic enough to wear out, yet comfortable enough to cruise around town.

Yay for Sayeh and yay for Luxury Garage Sale.
