Oh hey, look at that, it’s time for another client makeover! Last week I was making over Chelsea and this week I’ve got a dude in the hot seat.
Andy has recently left the real estate industry for more fashionable horizons. Yes, that’s right from real estate to the fashion industry. Andy is now a part of the School of Style team.
Andy’s real estate wardrobe was just not going to cut it so I stepped in to help a brother out.Since leaving the suited up world of real estate, Andy’s standard uniform was a plain hoodie, jeans, and a pair of Vans. Andy said, and I quote, “Vans are the most comfortable shoes in the world.” Andy is in his 30’s, so yeah it was definitely time to shake things up a bit and get him out of those damn Vans.
I didn’t want to move too fast so I opted for a more grown-up, modern upgrade – casual redefined. Comfortable but not sloppy. Think successful hipster with a preppy twist. If that makes any sense. My fashionable mind works in mysterious ways.
Budget-wise Andy was looking for an nice high-low mix. He had some money to spend but didn’t want to break the bank since this was his first time working with a stylist. Totally common and since I love a little high-low action, I was ready for the challenge.
For this shopping trip I hit the Nordstrom men’s department, H&M, TopMan, TJ Maxx‘s runway department, and Nordstrom Rack.
Antony Morato knit blazer, Billy Reid shirt, and TopMan boots
Options, options, options … Believe it or not this was one of two racks of clothing that I pulled for Andy. I showed him a mix of casual outfits and more dressier options for business meetings and events.
We both loved this look for casual business meetings. Those Vans just had to go though … Enter this handsome boot. How good are these bad boys? You can dress them up or dress them down. Versatility my friends, versatility. What an upgrade. This is just one of the 15+ looks that Andy purchased. Andy now has a fully stocked wardrobe full of casual and dressier looks. We also managed to get him 5 pairs of shoes too – all while staying under budget. Hooray. Andy is now ready for his new career in fashion.
