Lately I’ve been tired of flat ironing my hair. Not only am I terrible at it, I’m pretty sure all of that heat can’t be amazing for my hair. So during my last salon visit I decided to get a curly ‘do.
My hair guy did a two-strand twist on my hair while wet, sat me under the dryer, un-twisted, and viola … frizz free curls. It felt SUPER weird walking out of the salon with curly hair. I didn’t feel like myself. I was tempted to run back into the salon and have him flat iron me but I decided to rock the curls even though I felt like a curly headed alien.Me post salon visit and childhood me
The next day I felt a lot more comfortable with the look. In fact, I felt kind of free. I rocked the curls for 4 days before they needed to be refreshed. Cue the horror movie music.
I decided to deep condition, wash, and style my hair curly. I didn’t feel confident in my twisting skills so I opted for foam rollers instead.
Well leave it to me to do it wrong.
With my head covered in foam rollers, I sat under my hooded dryer for hours. I was feeling pretty proud of myself until I took the rollers out. I looked like Ronald McDonald. The curls were WAY too tight and the front portion refused to dry and came out all straight and weird.
So frustrating!!! I wonder how long it’s going to take me to learn how work my natural hair.
As always, tips are welcome because if you haven’t noticed … I need HELP!!
I actually use my karmin g3 clipless curling iron to enhance my natural curls!
oh cool! Thanks for the tip.
