At-Home Makeovers … Lauren Messiah Style
The thing I love most about being self-employed is that no two days are the exactly the same. One day I’m sitting behind my laptop and the next day I’m on an 8-hour shopping bender for a client. It’s a good life.
Today was one of my more random days because today my “stylist hat” extended over into hair styling territory. I love hair as much as the next girl but I’m definitely not an expert. But when Clairol asked me to use their to give myself or a friend a head-to-makeover, I couldn’t say no. My hardworking (School of Style) Office Manager, Kat really deserved a makeover. Home girl works her butt off and hasn’t seen the inside of a salon for YEARS. My dressing room is no Beverly Hills hair salon but it’s better than a kick in the pants.
Her existing hair color was mousier brown with hints of green (her words not mine). I decided to deepen it up for fall with the Classic Medium Neutral Brown 3N/83N. This is professional grade stuff that lasts up to 8 weeks, so she’d better like it.
SPOILER ALERT: She loves it! 
In the words of Ted Gibson, I mixed up the magic in a little hair dye dish that I had laying around. I also had a application brush and gloves laying around. The perks of being a blogger, your bathroom is always stocked with random stuff you’ll someday need. Clairol made it really simple for me, there were only two bottles involved in the process. Toss ’em both in a bowl, mix, and you’re ready to apply.
Look at me like a pro, applying that color. 
We let the color process for 30 minutes and washed it out.
The color looks FANTASTIC!! I know I didn’t invent the color or anything but I am seriously patting myself on the back right now. Next week I will have the full before/ after reveal. I’m also going to style out her wardrobe, so get excited about that too. I know we are.
