The Periodic Table of Beauty: BB Cream

BB, CC … All of these dual lettered beauty creams have landed me right in the middle of a high school chemistry flashback.

Like any major trend in fashion or beauty, I resisted until I can resist no more. So today marks the day that I cave into the hype to find out what all of this BB Cream talk is all about. Revlon was kind enough to send me a tube of their Revlon PhotoReady BB Cream to take on a test drive.

Admittedly I’ve become a creature of habit when it comes to prepping my face for the day. It’s about a 90 step process that starts with under eye cream. Then I move on to moisturizer, sunscreen, primer, concealer, foundation, powder, highlighting powder, blush, and a bit of bronzer. I’m not even sure I need all of those products but I love them all and thus started a very time consuming morning routine.

So today, since I had the product, which “hydrates like moisturizer, smooths like primer, covers like foundation, blurs flaws like a concealer, and protects with SPF 30 like sunscreen” I thought why not shave 15 minutes from my busy schedule.

Now remember I am walking into this experiment as a skeptic who loves her over-the-top skin prep routine but I have to say, the ease of using just one product was pretty nice. Revlon’s BB Cream saved me time, went on smooth, looked great, and felt light on my skin. Perfect for those days where sitting in front of the mirror all morning isn’t an option.

While I’m on the topic of Revlon beauty magic … Revlon also sent me a lip gloss (Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Sugar Violet) and a lipstick (Super Lustrous Lip Stick in Kissable Pink). Um, I’m obsessed. The gloss isn’t sticky at all and looks lovely over my existing lip color. Genius product. The lipstick is amazing too. I’ve never been a light pink lipstick girl but this happens to look amazing on me. Score!
