Teacher, Teacher! Getting my Mentor On in NYC

If you told me 4 years ago that I would be a teacher/mentor to the next generation of stylists I would have literally laughed in your face.  Heck, I probably would have giggled at the notion of being a stylist for a living. It had always a dream but for it become a reality (and this fast)- totally worth a giggle.

So it was a complete and total honor to be a mentor at Fashionista’s ‘How to Make it in Fashion’ conference in New York City. For starters, Fashionista is like my morning paper – I worship that site. And second, to be in the same room as Zac Posen, Rebecca Minkoff, Chris Benz, and Leandra Medine? Just pinch me.

I had an absolute blast serving up career advice to the next generation of fashion stars. I met some amazing young people who were both talented and driven. That’s a hard combination to come by these days. One kid was 16 and had already started his own company! Um, he rules.

Anyhow, I had such an amazing time that I am forcing my amazing feelings onto you through this post and through these pictures. Enjoy.
