Last week I got down with some ladylike attire from Marshalls and this week it’s all about the ladylike accessories. As you may know by now, I’ve partnered with Marshalls to shop, style, and “model” Spring 2013’s hottest trends. I’m kind of a sucker for accessories (have you seen my shoe collection?) so this week’s assignment was right up my alley.
I based my outfit on a pair of sweatpants, yes sweatpants, that I found at Marshalls. I saw them and became obsessed with the idea of making sweats “ladylike”. I walked around the store for more time than I’d like to admit figuring this all out. Then a mental picture popped into my head. It was a stylish lady from the 1950’s shopping at the Farmer’s Market on a bright and sunny Sunday morning. In the 50’s you had to be put together at all times even if you were running errands so I figured every other element of this ensemble had to say “lady”.
I made my way to the shoe department and found the cutest pointy toe slingbacks – slight heel, zebra print … perfection. Then it was off to the handbag department where I found an insanely beautiful off-white bag. So on-trend, so chic, and sturdy enough for a bunch of kale from the market 😉 I added some dark shades with pearl details from my previous outfit because nothing says “lady” like a pearl!
My outfit was clearly missing something … a top! I found a lightweight button up shirt, which I tied at the waist to give it that 50’s ladylike look.
Top, pants, shoes, bag, and shades are all from (the watch is my own)
