(Late Night) Tea Time with Rimmel London’s Stay Glossy

I am a hardcore tea drinker, no coffee for this girl. I can’t function without my tea. I drink it in the morning, in the afternoon, and a night (hello, bedtime tea). In the US the tea culture could use some work. It’s all about comfy clothes, laptops, and coffee shops around here. For this look I was inspired by the tea sippers across the pond. Looking smart and sophisticated while reading a great book at the local café.

What could be smarter than a long pencil skirt from Dolce & Gabbana? That is the garment I based my look on. What I love about this skirt is that it can go from day to night with its dual personality fabrication (metallic gold in the front, gray tweed in the back). I paired it with a denim button front shirt that I found at Nordstrom Rack.  To accessorize myself I wore my new vintage-inspired necklace from J. Crew and a headband from Nordstrom.

I kept my makeup fresh with a pale lip and golden eye makeup, for a pretty and effortless look.

For the face: This is my daily “Lauren face” routine … I start with concealer from Laura Mercier, then add foundation from Armani and finish with powder from Chanel. Then I warm up my face with blush from Nars and Rimmel London’s natural bronzer in Sun Glow.

The eyes: I wanted to bring out the blue in my shirt so I used Rimmel London’s eye shadow quad in Smokey Blue. I simply dusted the lighter blue across my entire lid and used the darker blue in the crease. I then lined the top lid with gold eye shadow from Urban Decay. I can’t live without eyeliner, so I rimmed my eyes with Rimmel London’s Scandal Eyes liner in Kajai. A few swipes of Scandal Eyes Show Off mascara and a swipe of Dior Show mascara completed the look.

On my lips: I blended two of the shades that were closest to my lip color – Here to Stay and All Day Seduction – by placing both shades in dots on my lips and then rubbing them together. I finished with a coat of Infinitely Pretty, which is exactly how I felt when the lip color came together.
