Spring Trends with Kohl’s: Tropical

Ah, escaping to a tropical island – wouldn’t that be nice? Since my calendar is jammed packed with work, there really aren’t any tropical vacations in my immediate future. That doesn’t mean I can’t take enjoy a little tropical action this spring because one of spring’s hottest trends is all about the tropics. Think large floral prints and bold colors.

So I high-tailed it to Kohl’s to create another look for their spring trend series.

Kohl’s had a ton of exciting floral prints, I seriously had a bunch of stuff in my hands but I was stopped dead in my tracks when I saw this amazing yellow top from the Jennifer Lopez Collection on the go-back rack. I snatched it up and so began my latest Kohl’s ensemble.

Then I found this fantastic green skirt by Elle. The color is saturated, its flirty, it’s fun – it’s perfect for my outfit. The skirt came with a great thin citrus yellow belt. I ditched the belt (saving it for another outfit) and added this edgy belt from Apt. 9.

I polished off the look with a pair of sandals from Rock & Republic. I wanted to tie in the edginess of the belt all while keeping that tropical vibe alive. I mean, what is more tropical than a pair of sandals?
