It’s time to get white hot because this spring white is the color, well the non-color if you want to get technical with it.
For spring 2012 white and the ever so popular color-blocking trend are teaming up for the ultimate masterpiece in style. That’s right, instead of donning head-to-toe white this spring, step it up by pairing your mighty whites with a bold color.
I created a look at Kohl’s that I’m actually a huge fan (of course I’m a fan, I styled the look… hehe). I started at the bottom again (I am noticing a styling trend here) with a pair of white jeans by Rock & Republic.
I found two great colorful tops but I couldn’t decide which one was better, the hot pink Jennifer Lopez Collection tank or the Rock & Republic electric blue button down. Then it hit me … use them both. Duh.
Loved how it all looked together. I just needed some accessories to top off the look. I found this spectacular metal collar from Apt. 9 in silver. It was exactly what the look needed. I also loved how it was on sale for $16 and it totally looks expensive. Score!
The shoes were the toughest part for me because there were so many different places I could take the look. I thought about studded loafers, then maybe snakeskin sandals … but in the end the comfortable and flattering wedges from Rock & Republic won out.
So to nail the trend yourself make sure you have one major white piece in your ensemble (pants, blazer, skirt) and make all the supporting players in the brightest bright (pink, blue, yellow) you can find. It’s as simple as that.
