I met Michel Stong back in my ThisNext days. Michel was one of our fantastic super users aka “mavens.” Her and I ended up striking up a little online friendship. What can I say, I have a weak spot for people with impeccable taste. After I left ThisNext (and didn’t look back) I didn’t really keep in touch with many of my “mavens.” But to my surprise, Michel reached out to me last month and asked if she could interview me for a story she was working on for Lucky Magazine. Awesome!
Michel was working on her entry for Lucky’s Search for a New Lifestyle Contributor contest. I was happy to help and of course flattered to be asked to participate in her entry. So do me a huge favor and help me support Michel by voting on her piece.

A Day in the Life…
I met Lauren when we were both ‘expert mavens’ at ThisNext.com. Lauren is still highly regarded by ThisNext followers, a true testimony to her inimitable style.
Lauren is a Los Angeles based personal stylist. She works mainly with Hollywood executives, both women and men. Lauren helps them ‘re-image’ themselves and pull together looks that make them feel confident and powerful. She is the President of School Of Style, the world’s first school aimed specifically for aspiring wardrobe stylists. The business is based in Los Angeles but also has a program in New York City.
“My personal style is kind of hard to peg. Some people might call my look edgy, eclectic, and a little bit rock and roll. But basically, I buy what I like. I prefer high quality clothing that make a statement. Oh, and like most women, I am obsessed with shoes. My favorite designers are Givenchy, Maison Martin Margiela, Dries Van Noten, and Balenciaga.”
