I’m In NYC and I’m Shopping (Shocker)

I’m back in New York for a few days and my first order of business, as always, is shopping. Lucky for me (okay it was planned) I am here during all of the best sales. The Century 21 sales and the Barneys sale. Yay!

I’ll admit that I wasn’t totally on my shopping A-game because New York was kicking my ass. It happens every time. The first day I arrive in NYC should be an adjustment day but I never make it an adjustment day. The noise, the people, the crowds … makes me crazy!! During the sale season its especially bad … but I powered through.

The first stop was Century 21 for their sale. I can’t believe I am saying this but … I really don’t need any new clothes right now so I didn’t really give it my all in the clothing section.  They did have a great Stella McCartney section where everything was an extra 50% off. I fell in love with a pair of sequin pants but they didn’t have my size 🙁

I did, however, need a swimsuit (remember?) so I headed over to the swimwear section. Um, wow … whack attack. There are a lot of unattractive bathing suits out there. I did find one that looked like it has some potential. It was a black neoprene cutout one piece by Emilio Pucci. Unfortunately the store doesn’t let you try on swimsuits so I had to bring it home and take my chances. I think I like it. I tried it on after dinner, which was clearly a horrible idea, so I can’t tell if its flattering on me or not.

I also found a cute pair of shoes at Century 21. It was drama to get them because they didn’t have a price tag but it was worth it in the end.

After the Century 21 madness was over, I needed to recover so I headed over Barneys. Barneys is the happiest place on earth (to me). The scene was much more chill, even with the sale going on. I tried on a couple of things but ended up just getting a pair of fabulous shorts by Rag & Bone. I can’t find a picture of them but take my word for it, they are sick. They are high-waist short-shorts with tiny blue leather fringe all over them. AMAZING!!

Not sure if I’ll have time to do anymore shopping but I do, you know I’ll give you all the full report.
