Fun Times in NYC

Right now I am in NYC for work and I’m having a blast! Working, seeing the city and friends, and of course … shopping! What could be better than that? I actually can’t think of anything better than that right now.

Working: The reason I am in NYC is for work (btw I have the best job ever in life! I am the luckiest girl in the whole world). Luke and I are teaching our second New York School Of Style class. This go-round, holding the class here in New York is a lot less stressful than it was back in July. We seem to have our system down and its totally cool. The students in NYC are way cool and seem to be loving the class.

Seeing the City: I have been to New York many times but I still don’t have this city down. Plus in the past my idea of a good time was way different that it is now. Also, I wasn’t a vegetarian before either (people in NYC seem to really love eating meat). So finding things to do and places to eat isn’t as easy as is used to be. Luckily I know a few people out here and our students have helped recommend places to eat.

Last night we hit Angelica Kitchen in the East Village. So good! Great food and good for you too. I wish I could say the same for this unnamed French place in Soho. After sitting there for 45 minutes without service, we bounced. Here is a picture of me sitting there waiting impatiently …

Shopping: What would a trip to NYC be without a shopping trip? After getting settled, Luke and I hit our favorite store … Century 21!!! This time they weren’t having a sale so we exercised some restraint. We still spent but not like it was it was the last day on earth. I bought a few things for myself and I also got a few early 30th b-day presents …

At the end of the day, here is what will be entering my closet when I return to LA.: two Dolce & Gabbana bras (pictured below), a pair of black patent leather Dolce & Gabbana wedges, a Y-3 by Yohji Yamamoto down puffy jacket, and an AWESOME Vivienne Westwood coat. I’m actually excited for it to get cold so I can wear that coat. Its so freaking chic.
