Lavin pre-fall 2010
Yesterday I went to Barney’s with Luke to preview the Lavin fall 2010 and pre-fall collections. You see when you are big stylist you get to do cool things like this. Oh and to be clear, Luke is the big stylist. I am just the mini-stylists that gets to come along for the ride 🙂 And holy shit were the collections amazing!
For years, my fashion life has been online so I’ve only been able to admire beautiful clothes through my 13″ MacBook. Now that I am working in a part of the industry that actually gets to touch and feel the clothes … my appreciation for amazing clothes has deepened. When you see high end designer clothes in person you understand why they cost so much!!
We spoke with the Lanvin rep who told us in great detail about the design philosophy of the collection, and how they are made. Did you know that if you undid all the seams in the fall collection, you would end up with either a square or rectangle of fabric? Yeah, that’s right. No multiple pieces patterns here, just one piece of fabric and an amazing amount of creativity. It’s mind blowing.
Ugh, I learned so much! What a great experience.
We couldn’t take photos but here are some of the pieces that I saw there and fell in love with. All photos from Style.com.
