Shapewear: The Modern Corset

Now, I am not a big girl but like so many women, I have “those days.” You know the days, the days where you “feel fat.” The days where your size 4 dress may as well be a size 400. It’s silly, I know, but it happens to all of us — no matter what size we are.

So now that I have put the obvious truth out of the table, what’s a girl to do? Well, a girl can either go on a (unhealthy) crash diet and eat basically nothing until she feels thin again. Even though you will gain it back immediately, I know b/c I pull this stupid crap all the time … OR you can wiggle yourself into some shapewear.

What is shapewear? Shapewear is an undergarment that sucks you in! That isn’t the scientific definition but that’s what it is.

I have been a longtime fan of Spanx, which is wildly popular but I hadn’t experimented past that until the other day. I picked up two items by Maidenform and totally fell in love.

Item #1- Control It Camisole: I pretty much love this camisole and I plan on buying more. Its a thin camisole that sucks is ALL in. You wear it under your clothes to tame your tummy. This thing is TIGHT so it takes some getting used to. I felt like I was in a corset for the first few hours. I could barely breath. Lol! But seriously, amazing.

Item #2- Flexees Brief: The briefs didn’t suck in as much as the camisole did but it was still effective. I actually combined the black briefs with the black camisole to make a little leotard type thing. Wearing these briefs did make my pants quite loose those! I definitely needed a belt.

Have any of you tried shapewear? What was your experience like?? I am a believer.
