Dear Fashion Kitty, Midwestern Girl
I grew up in the South and went to high school in full on make up, hair, heels and cute stylish clothes every day. It was completely normal to wear dresses, designer jeans, and all kinds of wonderful things. I moved to the Midwest to go to college and here people go to class in their pajamas or sweatpants! I am completely out of place in my fabulous heels and beautiful day dresses. Please help me find a stylish way to dress casually. I don’t want to look like a slob, but I still want to fit in with the people around me.
Guh!! It freaking KILLed me to see people schlepping around in their stupid pajamas at college. It the stupidest thing I have ever heard of. Listen to me, and listen to me closely. DO NOT fall victim to this crime of fashion. Don’t you ever, ever, ever, ever wear your pajamas to school … EVER!
Okay, now that I got that out my system … let’s carry on. What I really want to tell you to do is to keep dressing the way you dress. Maybe, just maybe you can convince some people to follow after you. I always dress up, it’s more fun! Who cares if you stand out. However, you came here for advice so I am going to give it to you.

Thank you so much! I LOVE these outfits – they are definitely ME – but a bit toned down. Thank you so much for your advice! I love the sparkly top, ruffle top, and yellow flats 🙂 I will keep dressing up – because it makes me happy and I definitely get noticed (especially by the hot guys). It’s just harder to make female friends. I wish more people in small towns would read your blog, sigh…
