Dear Fashion Kitty, Rainbow Socks

I lurrrrrrrrrrve your blog, particularly your gossip girl sections. But I don’t have a gossip girl related question.

I recently bought a pair of rainbow striped socks, that go right up to my thigh. They are absolutely fabulous and I love them to death! But I have no idea what to wear with them.

Pant/skirt wise, what would you suggest? I thought a denim skirt, but it’s getting cold and I really don’t want to have to wait for spring to wear them out! Any warmer suggestions?

Totally Punky Brewster, baby! I would wear a denim skirt too, the socks are too bright for anything else. To keep warm I would put a pair of black opaque tights under them — you get a fun layered look with that too. For shoes, I would wear knee high boots with either no heel or a 1/2 – 1″ heel (if you go taller than that you will look crazy.) On top, go for something warm and cozy (a little less crazy) like a black cowl neck sweater. Don’t go wild with the jewelry either, a cute ring will do the trick.
