Dear Fashion Kitty

How can I wear these shoes without looking like I’m dressed up and ready to go to hop? I like them and their cheap.

Wow. I think that this ranks up there with one of the strangest questions I have gotten. But hey if they were stylish once, why not try to make them stylish again. This isn’t going to be easy to pull off (so I hope you are really fabulous) but here is what I see…

  • Short shorts in black
  • Black Opaque Tights
  • ShopBop’s brand new limited edition top
  • Black cardigan to pull it all together
  • A cute and unique Domino necklace from Filthy Gorgeous if you want a punch of color (it’s retro like your shoes- just lose the pearls please thats too busy)
  • Black nail polish for some edge (since the shoes are not hard core at all)

  1. Isn’t black and white big this season? Could this person wear those shoes with soft, but simple flowy dresses. I like the shoes too, but would it be bad to wear them with longer shorts (to the knee and black)?

  2. I can see them with longer shorts! For sure for sure… But I think that a flowing dress would be a huge mistake. It would look too dowdy and dorky. But I think with shorts, it may be possible being the saddle back!

  3. I second Fashion Kitty-No on the dress. But I have seen some people pair oxford or saddle shoes with wide leg trousers. Add a cute casual top and you have a very retro, very now look.
